The 39th Association is made up of veterans of the 39th Transport/Troop Carrier Squadron, U.S. Army Air Corp, the 39th Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Squadron, USAF, and past and present members of the 39th Airlift Squadron, USAF. Here you will find a history of the 39th, along with squadron unit decorations and news and activities of the association.
Our annual reunions are always special, and the 2015 event in Atlanta was no exception. We enjoyed tours of the Coca-Cola museum, the Georgia Aquarium and Lockheed-Martin, and of course, catching up with old friends. Details and photos of the reunion are in the Reunion News and Photos sections.
Our 2016 Reunion is set for September 14-18 in Portland, Oregon. Mark your calendars and plan to attend! Our new 39th President, Bob Januzzi, has offered to be our host for the event, and we are sure he is planning some special activities! Click on the Reunion News tab for more information and a Registration form.
We want to keep you informed of upcoming reunions, share photos of past reunions, swap stories and have a place to visit to find out news of old and new friends. We hope you enjoy visiting our site, and if you have served in the 39th, please consider joining our association. Just contact us, and we will send you a membership application.
And don't forget to visit our Facebook page titled 39th Troop Carrier Squadron (Trailblazers).
The official emblem of the 39th, a winged covered wagon, has been in use from October 27, 1942, to the present time. The 39th Airlift Squadron is using the same emblem today at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas.
