Welcome to the 39th Association Website

The 39th Association is made up of veterans of the 39th Transport/Troop Carrier Squadron, U.S. Army Air Corp, the 39th Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Squadron, USAF, and past and present members of the 39th Airlift Squadron, USAF. Here you will find a history of the 39th, along with squadron unit decorations and news and activities of the association.

Our reunions are always special. The 2019 reunion was held in St. Louis in September 2019, and it was fantastic. We toured the historic Daniel Boone home and village, the Gateway Arch and Museum, the Weldon Spring Interpretative Museum and Nuclear Waste Disposal Cell and enjoyed lunch at Chandler Hill Vineyards and the Trailhead Brewing Company. Many of us visited Historic Main Street St. Charles and the Mosaics Art Festival. What an enjoyable time we had visiting and sharing stories in the Hospitality Room each evening.

The 2020 reunion was hosted in Branson MO, October 22-25, in conjunction with the Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Association. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 reunion was attended by very few of our members. We all hope and pray we will be able to continue future reunions.

We want to keep you informed of upcoming reunions, share photos of past reunions, swap stories and have a place to visit. We hope you enjoy visiting our site, and if you have served in the 39th, please consider joining our association. Just contact us, and we will send you a membership application.

The official emblem of the 39th, a winged covered wagon,
has been in use from October 27, 1942, to the present time.
The 39th Airlift Squadron is using the same emblem today at
Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas.
