The 39th Association is made up of veterans of the 39th Transport/Troop Carrier Squadron, U.S. Army Air Corp, the 39th Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Squadron, USAF, and past and present members of the 39th Airlift Squadron, USAF. Here you will find a history of the 39th, along with squadron unit decorations and news and activities of the association.
Our annual reunions are always special, and the 2018 Reunion held in Dayton in October in conjunction with the reunion of the Troop Carrier/Tactical Airlift Association was wonderful! Approximately 30 members of the 39th attended, renewed acquaintances and met new friends. We visited the Air Force Museum, the Dayton Aviation Heritage Museum, Wright Bicycle shop, and watched the unveiling of the TC/TAC memorial. More information and photos can be seen on the Reunion News and Photos sections.
We want to keep you informed of upcoming reunions, share photos of past reunions, swap stories and have a place to visit. We hope you enjoy visiting our site, and if you have served in the 39th, please consider joining our association. Just contact us, and we will send you a membership application.
The official emblem of the 39th, a winged covered wagon, has been in use from October 27, 1942, to the present time. The 39th Airlift Squadron is using the same emblem today at Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas.
